5 v 5 Small Sided Games
Playing is very important component of a child’s soccer development. Children like to play because its fun. The goal of the Travel Development Academy is:
• To create an internal league
• Form six teams in both the boys and girls division
• Ensure each team consists of no more than eight players so that the team and its players can be instructed and supported effectively
• To attempt to ensure equality in the abilities of all the teams by having at least one player from each of the training pools on every team
The League will play during the season on Saturday morning. The teams rosters shall remain the same for the season but may change for the next season. A player on team "1" in the fall may not be on team "1" in the spring.
Pool and team training sessions are conducted by a professional coaching staff following the Travel Development Academy curriculum developed by the PSA Director of Coaching, John Newman.
Optional Events
Throughout the year, Princeton Soccer Association invites neighboring clubs to participate in festivals and tournaments with our Travel Development Academy teams. Our hope is that:
• Some of these clubs will follow our lead and create small sided teams for their younger players.
• This will allow us to branch out in the future and form more small sided leagues.
We will also be traveling to other clubs and participating in their festivals and tournaments. This gives the players in the program a broader perspective of the game and allows them to get a sense of their development and progress.
