Ray is lifelong veteran of the New Jersey club soccer scene, having played his youth ball for the Manalapan Soccer Club Mavericks through his high school years and continuing to play in the Garden State Soccer League with the Cranbury Rangers.  He was a member of 3 State Championship Track and Field teams at Christian Brothers Academy.

Ray has been refereeing hundreds of youth and adult soccer matches in New Jersey, including the State Cup and ODP Tournaments.  He currently holds a NJYSA "F" Coaching Certificate. He holds a Bachelors of Arts degree from Rutgers University.
